Bulgartabac Holding Group is a world-famous exporter of Bulgaran oriental tobacco.

The export of various varieties of Oriental tobacco is directed towards the following markets according to the demand:

1. The typical aromatic and most expensive tobacco varieties of top and medium quality are exported to USA, EC, FarEast (Japan)
2. The semi aromatic filler type varieties of medium and lower quality are exported to Eastern Europe, Russia, North Africa, Middle Eastand some Far East countries.

The following quantities of Oriental tobacco by crops have been exported by BulgartaWithin the period 1997 - 1999 Bulgartabac Holding has exported the following quantities of Oriental tobacco by crops:

The leading export varieties are "Krumovgrad" , " Nevrokop", " East Balkan"
"Djebel". They represent abt. 50-80% from the total volume of the annual export during the period. The participation of the other oriental tobacco varieties in the total leaf tobacco export is between 1% and 10%.

Bulgartabac Holding Group is expecting to export approx. 10000 MT of Oriental tobacco for the export year 2000. The current unsold leaf tobacco stocks of the company offered to all potential tobacco buyers are abt. 10000 tons.

A forecast for an eventual stabilzation of the tobacco market after the year 0f 2000, gives reason to expect the export sales of oriental leaf tobacco by Bulgartabac Holding Group to reach 12000 - 14000 Mt per year for the period 2001 - 2004.

The leaf tobacco export potential of the company in the next years will depend
from the climatic conditions, the volume and quality of the tobacco crops in Bulgaria and the other oriental producing countries Turkey and Greece.
